I am trying to find a tacho drive for my Dominator 99. They are obtainable from Andover or RGM at quite a hefty price. I notice ones on Ebay selling for about £25. They are intended for a vintage Massey Ferguson Tractor.

Has anyone tried one of these? Do they work on a Norton? Alternatively does anyone have a good second hand one for sale?
Tacho drive
Have you thought about using a Triumph gearbox, they are 2:1. I've used them on several bikes. Cheap if you shop around but might need some work, they are fixed in place by a left-hand thread on the Triumph, needs to be right-hand if fitted to the timing cover.

I'm also using a 4:1 ACW (I think) Indian rev-counter head, what a load of rubbish. Accurate at 30 - 40 mph in top gear, miles out everywhere else. Not really surprised at less than £20! The cable is Triumph T140.

Thanks John. I have already bought an Indian revcounter. I shall discover how useless it is when I get a drive box! My Dommie timing case requires a tacho drive that fits with two small screws so I don't think the type you have fitted to your navigator will work.

Of course these are available in different ratios and directions of turn. Normally you want a 2:1 reduction to go with a 4:1 clockwise rev counter.
Check carefully the Massey one is correct.
