For some years I have been trying to source a pair of footrest rubbers for a slimline dommy . Our suppliers think they have them , but up to now they only have lightweight ones (which don’t fit) , no one seems to make them now (no demand!!). Perhaps the club could order some from Hunters?. Anyone have a couple for sale?.
Part number 06.7760 (19983)…
Part number 06.7760 (19983) Rider footrest rubber, in stock at AN. This part is per the drawing 19983 as listed in the 1961 parts book.

Nope , wrong part, but they…
Nope , wrong part they are for later AMC produced bikes , but they do appear to list the correct part. However having bought these before , they can be the lightweight size and don’t fit dommy rests! , how can we tell ? What size bore hole are they?? I don’t need any more jubilee ones!! there is about a 3mm difference in the required hole size and they cannot be forced onto the wrong rests as they split. More info needed please Ashley.

The hole is 1/2'' dia and 4'…
The hole is 1/2'' dia and 4'' deep, this corresponds to the footrest peg which we also have the drawing for, so the 06.7760 (19983) is correct for 1962 slimline. The rubber should be a firm push onto the peg which is slightly larger in diameter than 1/2'', if it is tight then use some motor cross tyre fitting gel which acts as a lubricant when wet but and gently adhesive when dry.

Nope we are all at cross…
Nope we are all at cross purposes. All my fault should have been clearer ,Passenger pegs !!The early slimline used the flat rubbers for the passenger pegs . Similar to the lightweights but with a thicker peg. The ones on AN could be right but without the hole size ,who knows?

Atlas pillion footrest rubbers
Hi Robert,
I see that a very popular auction site offers set of 5 rubbers for Atlas. Includes 2 pillion footrest rubbers NM16249.
Wassel are the supplier. 20 quid gets the four footrest and a kickstart rubber.
Are these any good?

obtaining unobtainable parts…
obtaining unobtainable parts
This topic shows the need for wish lists for members unobtainable bike parts .But also the need for members to see that wish list to identify possible suppliers, to manufacture parts to support a kind of network directory of sorts that can be called on to get parts made and supplied ?
It could aid NOC parts dept and procurement, aid manufacturers to identify needs, and members play a part in trawling their knowledge for how they got things done to pass on to others in the club.
Hope this post is not too cryptic!!

As i was not confident of getting the right part , I spotted some Britax rubbers and bought those. God knows how old they are but made of good stuff they appear to be fine.

Until that time, use some std rubbers..Take note NOC Spares.
This reminds me: I waited years for a set of pre F/bed front engine plates, without help.
Then a mate down under made me a pair. I had two sets made, a perfect fit with one for the club to copy as necessary, (A free donation)
There is some very good advice on here but we must be more than just a talking shop.
