There seems to be very little talk about "the elephant in the room". I feel very sorry for anyone who had paid money for a new Norton and hasn't seen it yet., Ditto for anyone who owns one from Donington and is worried about availability of spares. It's a sad echo of history.
The motorcycle and national press have been quite damning about the sorry affair, with some effectively saying that fraud may be involved. As far as assets go, perhaps the fleet of luxury cars and Aston Martins may mitigate some debts, but it's HMRC, Banks and lenders that get preferential treatment. In simplistic terms - the people that don't really need the money!
Trial By Press?
I have no time for anyone who steals and cheats. But since there is a reasonable legal system in this country maybe we should wait to find out if he is found guilty by a Judge and/or Jury before we condemn.
And now I will bring my head back in from above the parapet.

No, he deserves condemning now. Lock the cell and throw away the keys. The legal niceties can follow on later. He knew what he was doing to those pensioners, the customers and the employees and it was done with malice and forethought.

Yes - I have looked at the various postings on Donington Nortons. I notice that some, more informed members have intimated that S-G doesn't deserve sympathy. Just the opposite perhaps! One motorcycle mag reckoned that the multi-millions allocated to R & D (£23m I think) wasn't used for it!
