The Saga of the 2023 NOC Calendar
Yeah, I know, kinda late in the year to be talking calendars, but just to make you aware, we still have some stock available, via NOC-Shop. UK cost is £5.00 incl VAT and postage to you – maximum price is £10 to our far-flung members around the world – see NOC-Shop for full-details
Apologies are in order over this item – having made strenuous efforts to markedly lower the price (some overseas members were paying around £20 for a calendar, that we judged to be too high!) by adopting a new A4 closed, opening to A3 displayed format, that preserved the diary elements for those of you who like to mark-up events on the monthly pages, plus a rather larger Norton bike picture (a full A4 in fact) plus machine / owner details, we were shocked to find our usually very reliable printers had committed a faux-pas over the calendar-part; September and December both had TWO 15ths of the month, albeit that later the next week skipping a date brought the month-end back correctly!!
So, after frantic negotiations, a re-run was instigated, with the printers agreeing responsibility for replacing already-despatched incorrect calendars. I sincerely hope that those of you who placed early orders received the correct edition in time for the New Year, but it was a considerable set-back we could well have done without.
I’d like to publicly thank Kev Feltoe for a sterling job in sourcing the necessary bike-pix and text and overseeing the production process – he and I copy-read all the NOC-supplied text several times and picked up a few errors in time to have them corrected, but no-one through to double-check the printer-supplied calendar part of the origination. Trust no-one, is the motto!!
And I also want to acknowledge with grateful thanks David Flaxington’s part in the programme – it’s he who’s handled the despatch of all orders, including some bulk ones, including to North America where we have a couple of loyal customers who help ensure the NOC calendar gets a great exposure.
Despite the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, the general reaction to the new format seems to be favourable; we’ve certainly not received any brick-bats, that we know only too well are eminently ‘chuckable’, but if you’ve any comments, I’d be pleased to receive them at peter.scatchard@nortonwnersclub.org.
