rear wheel bearing lock ring

Is the rear wheel bearing lock ring (also speedo gearbox drive) really a left hand thread?

Mine won't come out either way, and I don't want to get too rough with it until I know.

Just checked my full width hub, it’s a LH thread, even helpfully stamped LH on the lock ring! It’s a very fine thread so mind how you go, lots of plus gas and some heat might help.

Thank you Dan, mine is  also stamped LH but it's so tight I thought I'd check.

I'll let it soak for a while in Q20 and maybe try heat.

Thank you Dan, we finally got it out with a C spanner, lots of heat (over 100C) and a number of helping hands. One pair to hold the wheel on the bench, one pair to use the C spanner and an extension piece, and another to supervise..

Sounds a lot but this was tight, it required a lot of force.
