The things you come across in our hobby are both frustrating and rewarding. Just when you think you've got one thing sorted, something else comes up. That's frustrating now, but when solved, it just adds to the satisfaction.
In this case it's the discovery of the Featherbed rear cross member (NM15844) missing from my frame. The one that holds the engine plates. As I haven't had any previous experiences with the Featherbed frame, I didn't notice it was missing when I bought the frame. Just like I didn't notice the 1 cm gap between frame and swingarm (nylon bushes will sort that I hope).
Does anyone have the measurements of that part? Diameter, where are the lugs located, et cetera. Then I can make my own. Alternatively, if you've got one gathering dust... I'll then put the sizes here for future reference.
Cheers!
Tim
I guess it depends on which…

Thank you all. I'm aware…
Thank you all. I'm aware they are available new. And although I'm glad so many businesses make our parts available and will happily make use of their services for my standard Model 50, for this (race) project, I try to source second hand or make my own. I like the social part of sourcing and making will teach me something (often that I'm not as good as I think I am). But hey, the day you stop learning is the day you stop thinking.
To answer Ian's question: it's a wideline frame And the suggested part seems to fit. However, the length is the single measurement that I knew beforehand. I do really appreciate your research Ian, but regretfully, Andover doesn't mention dimensions. Which is understandable of course.
I didn't have a look at the Dominator service notes Alan. I'm new to the club and keep forgetting the immense amount of information that's available online. I did look just now and although no measurements are mentioned, the information is very interesting. Especially regarding the welding, which seems to be a weak point there.
When over in the UK, I do have to order these service notes. I must admit it's convenient to have them available online, but I much prefer a paper version. I like having books spread out on the table and making notes.
But information mentioned aside; if anyone has one laying around and could mention some dimensions, that would be greatly appreciated (as is the information above).

I guess it depends on which Featherbed frame you have. Andover Norton would be the place to look. Under Wideline frames :- https://andover-norton.co.uk/en/shop-drawing/898/wideline-frame-parts, Frametube 1 seems to fit your description. If you have a Slimline:- https://andover-norton.co.uk/en/shop-drawing/304/featherbed-frame-swinging-arm, item 41 distance piece looks to be the part in question.
I hope this helps.
