Can I ask someone a favour?
I am currently in France but my 1947 Model 18 is in Cornwall 
I am after a 8" headlamp and I have seen a possible one here, but I need to know the maximum clearance/measurement between the the headlamp brackets on the Roadholder forks.
Can anyone help?

Hello Ian,
My very original 1949 (fitted with long roadholders)is still fitted with its original Lucas 8" headlamp (picture attached), I have just removed the lamp and the distance between the two headlamp brackets is exactly 8 inches, please note there are no spacing washers between the headlamp bowl and bracket.
