Waiting for the Cylinder head to come back with new G&S Valves and guides so got things ready for Assy of the rockers . The photo shows exactly how they came apart BUT I now notice that two rocker shafts have `Flats` on them and two don`t have `Flats`. Also one only has a 1.5mm oil hole in it . The others are 2.5mm . Can I ask for some assistance from the experts please.

Thanks Philip , so would it be a good idea to try and get two more with `Flats` to make a set if I can find some ? I see Andover Norton advertise Scrolled Dommi Rocker spindles which don`t appear to have any `Flats` . Does that matter ?
. RGM only advertise Non Scrolled Spindles With `Flats but don`t have any in stock anyway.
From what you say the `Flats` don`t seam to be much of an advantage .
My engine has had pretty well everything renewed ( Rebored , Reground, new Rods, new guides ,valves , bearings , seals , the lot ! ) .

Hi Wayne......you have a mixture of early 1950 to 1954 (no flats) and 1954-on rocker spindles (with flats). The flat, along with the central circular recess, acted as a small reservoir for the later rocker arms and was a feature of the Dominator cylinder heads up until the arrival of pressure fed rockers around 1966.
I have no records indicating flatless spindles with 1.5mm feed holes until post1966.
It might be a smart move to obtain 4 matching spindles.
On the pre-1966 heads, the maintenance manuals recommend fitting the spindles with the flats facing inwards towards the spark plug. However, doing the opposite and facing the flats towards the rocker covers does help to control the amount of oil being dumped around the valve guide ends which in turn might limit a tired engine from smoking excessively.
