121mph Model 16H racer

While looking at a completely different subject on the internet I somehow came across this very interesting article.

There are some great insights into the vision, amount of work and know how involved by those who have actually set out and achieved these results.

It's a seriously tempting article. I wonder what the Insurance would make of it? It's odd really. I could open the twist grip on my 16H all the way, but rather feel mechanical sympathy cuts in. So maybe stage 1 is to ride absolutely flat out at every opportunity just to find out if it is bearable!  The spigot carb fixing means fewer chances of picking up a serviceable upside carb at an autojumble. I'd need to re-read the article, but did he change the cast iron flywheel?

Of course you could get a modern machine instead but I love the look of the Norton Singles. Even my wife likes the look of the 16H!

The cheapest and quickest tuning device is a set of good earplugs.
