Hi
My 1928 CS1 engine is complete, but there is a lot of backlash between the vertical shaft spline and the bottom bevel. It seems like the wear is in the bottom bevel where the spline runs. The shaft splines look good.
Does anyone know of a fix or if any bottom bevels are available?
Makes a racket turning the engine over by hand!

Bottom Bevel
Thanks Jon
I have seen that site.
What I really need is a bottom vertical bevel for my engine. Part number 4118 in my parts book.
The bevel teeth are good but the female spline which accepts the vertical shaft is worn.
Cheers

Widely available at cammy engineers
Just be sure it's not the spine that's worn. Not something I've come across previously.
Stu Rogers, Ian Bain, Bennett's would be my go to's.

"Vintage Norton" site.
search:

There are other documents on that site that may be of interest to you.
