I have started to rebuild a 1962 navigator delux I have had for many years, the previous owner had taken the bike fully apart and boxed it with labels and it looks fairly straightforward but for a couple of questions, there are a few new parts and a couple of differing parts, firstly where does the horn fit, is it inside the rear panelling?
I have stripped both aspare engine and the original and the part no 20779 nylon slipper tensioner on the primary chain was fitted the opposite way around in both engines, does the more angled part fit pointing to the engine sprocket or the clutch? checked Ian Eastons helpful electra pictures and his is to the engine but the original engine formy bike was backwards and looked undisturbed [marked on inner primary cover]. I have a cam follower guide block question I will ask as a separate thread. thanks in anticipation. Arthur.

Hello there,
On my 1961 De Luxe Navigator the horn is fitted on the right hand side of the frame immediately below the petrol tank and pretty much in line with the front down tube. It's also in the same position on my 1961 Standard Navigator.
But I wouldn't guarantee that this is correct if you're into concours.

that's fine thanks, I am not into concours but I am working off a lovely mortons media picture of 527 kup a black/white de luxe and could not see the horn anywhere. thanks for the reply.Arthur

======Restored Navigator 526 KUP can be found on Mortons site, and the (incorrect) horn is shown under the tank. The original bikes had a fuller black horn. I will try to find another picture for you from 1961
