Hi Dan

Yes I purchased one of the red primed indian Mudguard kits from ebay a couple of years ago,I still have it, as found it to be to poor quality to do anything with. Also to wide to fit in the frame even without spacers.

hello,

nice mudguard, in the photo, looks well made.

this mudguard in the photos below was fitted to my 19s. single down tube. it may not be correct one but i thought i would stick with it as it fits well .

as the mudguard was a bit rotten i thought i would put some patches in it to straighten it up.  i made a thick metal bridge for the rear hindge support and made a hindge to look like the original by welding the point to it. put some patches in the sides of the mudguard.made new ends where the rear section meets the mudguard and bolts together. welded a bit more support where mudguard bolts to the frame at the front. and repaired the rear number plate brackets as they had rotted off. re attatched the side supports in side of mudguard. it all was a bit of a job . the metal thickness on the sides of the mudguard is 1mm in thickness and the centre of the mudguard varies from 3mm thickness to 2mm towards the front. it was like welding tin foil. i have still got to weld and grind some bits .i painted some bonda primer on and i am leaving it for now its done me head in. it would have been easier to get a new mudguard with similar profile and alter to suit. i am not an expert but i though i would give it a go.

Hey Barry. your renovation skills are highly acceptable after looking at your attachments above. Do you take commissions?

Once you see the painted version you'll look back and wonder what all the fuss was about.
