I'm on the lookout for a tacho drive gearbox for my 1946 Manx 40M. At some stage, the original has ben swapped out and replaced with a more modern unit and is causing interference issues, not to mention the aesthetic issues. Any help will be very gratefully received. I've attached photos of the original and the imposter. Thank you.

Hello Ian; My name is Mark Stockslager. I have a tach drive from a 1951 Manx. I do not know if it is origional to your year but it looks a lot like your 'origional picture' item. The difference is that there is a grease fitting on the outboard cover. I have a second damaged drive that has the same grease fitting so maybe they are both from a different year than yours.
