NORTON ES2 1955 REAR WHEEL FITTING

Forums

Hi

I'm trying to fit a rear wheel which I have purchased along with spacers and speedo drive. The spacers which I have purchased, off this site, seem to long especially the one which fits inside the speedo drive, as once fitted this pushes the speedo drive off the locating notches. If I fit the speedo drive without the internal spacer I can just fit the wheel inside the swinging arm which is very tight. Does any one no if these spacers or speedo drive are correct or can give me any advice. Also does anyone no the offset of the rear wheel rim mine is currently 52mm with a straight edge across the brake drum. Pictures below . Many thanks.

I'll try and measure mine as well, but at first glance it looks like you are trying to fit full width hub featherbed spacers.

Photo attached. Top one is the rigid and early swing arm including up to very early 88's. Bottom photo is full width hub for later featherbeds. Featherbed inner has a very thin flange. Earlier models have an inner spacer with mech heavier flange against the bearing face.

Overall width is 15mm.

Hi Ian

Thanks for the pictures and advice, as you say looks like my spacer is for the full width hub. I've measured the width of the spacer and its 21mm  but wasn't advertised for full width hub on this site, must have been sent by mistake. Now I know the size i'll get one ordered.

Thanks Darren
