Hi, can anyone tell me if the 1972 Interpol frame is the same as the Interstate frame? Due to arthritis, I'm planning on converting my 750 JPN replica to an interstate, with an easier riding position. The JPN replica started off as an Interpol way back. Basically, I need to know if the Interstate seat and fuel tank will fit properly.Thankyou for your help.
Norman, no issues I can see…

Thanks for replying Ashley…
Thanks for replying Ashley. I'm 6'8" and the Roadster feels awful small. I thought the bigger tank would make it a bulkier feeling bike. If that makes sense.

All Commando frames are…
All Commando frames are interchangeable as far as tank, seat, engine etc. mounting points are concerned. 850s have different steering geometry from 750s, later frames have reinforcement for the rear loop and some variations on stands but thats about it.
You might find that Interpol spec. works really well for you.
Here's a tall guy on a Roadster (actually S-type):

Thankyou. I'm like a Praying Mantis on a twig on a Commando with the Roadster set up. My knees feel way too high.

Mixing and Matching
Interstate kit will be fine on anything. Some later 850s had a slightly wider rear loop and won't accept a fastback tail, but that's the only exception I've ever come across.

Norman, no issues I can see. Also with your arthtirits surely a Roadster would be better, the interstate is heavy when full of fuel.
