Has anyone ever managed to fit the felt seal between the sliding plates on the chain-case?
I have just received a new inner chain-case from AN with the plates spot welded together.
I'm not inclined to separate the plates to fit the felt seal, but if I try to push the seal into the gap it stretches to uselessness.
Unless I get some better advice I'm going to cut the seal, push it into the gap, trim off the excess and superglue the cut ends together.
Thanks
Soak it in oil?

Should fit
I have done this in the past with no problems, just folded into a U shape, put it into the hole then opened it up again into the top of gap all the way around. Dose the felt seal look to be the right size to fit snug on the mainshaft or have you been supplied with the wrong part possibly?
Best regards, Al

Thanks, I think I may have…
Thanks,
I think I may have the wrong part - It came with the chaincase. I have ordered a new one , lets see if its any different. I tried oil, seemed the obvious thing to do - it just made it bigger.
Watch this space....

OK, I have a Dommie, but same plates. I found that soaking the felt in oil made a big difference.
Downside for you is no chance of supergluing if it doesn't work!
