Kick-start end float

There don't seem to be published end float limits for Dommie AMC box end float.  Should they be shimmed?  I would guess something like 12 though cold would be a number to aim at, but does end movement have any effect?  My cover is off (to replace springs) so now's a good time to think about it.
Box works perfectly and I don't want to fix it if it's not broken.
