One of my Cam followers is badly worn /out of shape where the Push Rod fits. Mine are chamfered back and front and appear to identify as a standard `Flat foot` according to the photos of identification in my Dominator service notes V1.2 manual. I thought I had found a set on the NOC shop but they dont have the chamfers back and front. My question is can I mix and match using the chamfered good ones on one side and the NOC shop non chamfered ones on the other ? Andover Norton have them on their site but ONE PAIR works out at over £300 ( non chamfered flat foot ). Anyone got a good chamfered one they want to part with ? ? ?

Camshaft looks ok. Are all cam followers the same ? Are Commando one`s the same ? Also I`ve read that `Referbished` one`s are not good as the hardened part could sometimes fail . Cheers.

I've had mine refurbished in the past, they must use a lot of coolant and light passes to keep the heat down at the interface. The tip is Delcrome C material, made by Stellite back in the day, but not actual Stellite.
The new version are expensive, but available. They are Cobalt / Chrome and investment cast, and I have a set that have ran in an engine (twice it locked up) with lack of lubrication - I would have refitted and used them as they were untouched.

Where did you buy the Cobalt/chrome one`s Ashley ? and was it those that `locked up ` ? Do I take it that you still have them if they are untouched ?

Forgive my ignorance Ashley. Pretty new to owning and working on Nortons so looked you up ! I`ve been scanning your site today and it appears ALL Dominators and Commandos use the same Cam Followers ( NM22771 , NM22772 ) . Have I got that right ? And thanks for your input .

Wayne.....should be OK to use. The lack of chamfer should not cause a problem. It was just an easy way out of grinding a few grams off each corner to save weight.
The real concern may occur if the camshaft lobes are worn and the cam follower foot does not sit flush on it.
