Hello,
Can anyone help me find the part number and or a supplier of the camplate / quadrant bush for my dollshead please.
Garry
Thanks Michael, …
Thanks Michael, unfortunately they're out of stock, I've mailed them for availability.. Seems Norvil sells them too, they have a new part number 023440..slightly more expensive but hopefully in stock..
Does anybody know the actual sizes? (Not taken them out yet..

Sizes
Earlier this year I helped a friend to refurbish his Doll's Head box. The old bushes are still lying on the bench. OD 0.815" ID 0.687" (but worn) Length 0.875". Note that these are larger (nominal 5/8" bore) than the equivalent Laydown bushes (1/2" bore) so the items offered by Paul Norman may not be suitable for Doll's Head boxes anyway. Our replacements came from Norvil and needed light reaming after installation.
On the Doll's head box the quadrant spindle lies below the oil level and requires a seal. Cork washers are available for this job but the ones that were supplied to us did not have the correct dimensions and would not have done the job (can't remember now where my friend sourced those). I ended up cutting/punching my own from a composite cork material. On Laydown boxes both camplate and quadrant spindles are above the oil level.

Confusion...
.....as to what fits what. My parts books say dolls head and upright boxes have same bush, while laydown box is a clean sheet of paper.

As I remember, this bush is a generic size that can be found at a bearing supplier and cut to length. May have had to hone it a wee bit.
