Hi
Stripping the front hub today (57 Dominator 88, 7 inch forks), I find that the threads are shot for the bearing lock ring. I'm fairly confident that I have enough bite on the lock ring for now and when everything is tight, it will be fine, as I expect the spindle and spacers the keep the tension for now.
I'd like to replace the hub but they are thin on the ground. Does anyone know any source or any other options please. I'd prefer the original set up but would consider a TLS option if they work and I knew what was needed.
As I will need a wheel rebuild anyway, all options are open
Any ideas please

Right hand thread
I get your point but there's not a huge amount of wall thickness there to be fair, so not sure if it's a God option.
It's a good call as a backstop but not sure if there's a machine shop around for me to do this. One for the list.
Thanks

Hi Nigel. Have you tried…
Hi Nigel. Have you tried George Yeomans at Bromsgrove (0121 453 8886)? He generally has a lot of stuff for all sorts of British bikes. I got a set of barrels from him - not cheap but they were on Standard bore so worth the money. He prefers collection of parts but will send items if you can’t get to him.
Hope that helps
Regards
Tony

It should be possible to machine out the knackered thread, screwcut a new larger thread and insert an internally and externally threaded sleeve to get back to the standard thread. I had to do this to a MK3 hub that i wanted to lace up with a new rim. Is the thread right or left handed?
