rh cylinder running weak

Forums

Hi all, my 750  has started popping back at low revs on rh cylinder, it has been running fine till then, it still goes well under acceleration and at higher revs, upon checking the plugs the rh plug colour looks to be weak, any ideas . i had not changed any carb or ignition settings .

Air leak at exhaust manifold can cause popping and banging in the pipe on the overun. Also have experienced weak mixture in one cylinder on my Mk3 850 which ran hot with blueing down pipe - cured by raising needle to enrich mixture on that carb (dropped needle clip to bottom groove on Amal carb).

Popping on the overrun is often a loose exhaust, it can also be caused by an air leak on the inlet side. As you say it looks weak, this is a possibility.  A worn carb slide can also contribute unwanted air too.

Worth checking.

Regards, George.
