HELP ! Can anyone provide dimensions for the the following parts:
1. H12-2/502 Rear brake pedal pivot bolt (Illustration JZ69 in the parts book).
2. D12/492 Front chain case inner portion crankcase washer. I assume this is a fibre or cork gasket that sits on the left crankcase boss.
3. D12/708 Crankcase breather pipe. Length and approximate radius of the curve.

Your request sounds a little odd - are you planning to make the parts yourself? An admirable ambition, but you need to know what you're doing, especially with the brake pedal spindle as that would need to be HT steel. There are two types available from Norvil - I will post the photos. If you have the brake pedal you will be able to take its dimensions yourself. The earlier type has a nut to hold the pedal on whereas the later ones are held on with a grease nipple, which slots into the groove on the spindle.
I don't know why Anna says that none on your list is available! The gasket comes in a full engine gasket set but is available from Andover Norton and Norvil as Part number 06.7779. There will be minor differences over the years so this might not be the type. Unfortunately there is a gap in my spares lists, both paper and electronic - between 1950 and 1955. I trust you have done research yourself with Google and the known suppliers of Norton spares? I guess you hope that NOC members will have the actual parts from which they can take dimensions?

Norvil part
The crankcase breather part No. D12/708 is superceded as Part No. 067881, but it isn't available as a full unit. The important part is the plate, which fits onto the crankcase as Part No. 06789P - £3.38 +VAT from Norvil. They say to solder on 6" of 3/8" copper pipe, but this can be of your choice, depending on where you want it to discharge. This pipe can be bent by hand so you can leave it until last to customise its route.
The brake pedal spindle/bolt should be the second photo I posted - P/N 122502 which is £20.55 from Norvil (PHEW!). (All Norvil and Andover Norton prices are listed excluding VAT.)

some do not come with
Hello Lionel Now some full gasket kits I have found only come with paper gasket for the primary in case to engine were as has part was a cork gasket now you can do your own in nearoplene from little engines engineering they build 3 inch and 5 inch and 7.1/4 inch gauge Steam Locomotives so they do have this type of gasket material and copper pipes and brass nuts and bolts The brake spindel I had one as Spare But Have no clues To where it is now, Norton twin very early parts are hard to find as most do not fit the Commando witch most dominator are parmed off with Commando parts which most are ill fitting or do not fit right And this club seam not to bothered about replacement hard to find early twins parts Now having said all this I do hope something come up for this member And all of you stay safe all my best Yours Anna J

Thanks Anna. Perhaps you will see my posting a short while ago about getting a full idea of NOC Members Wishlists for spares?
To be honest I would be happy with any type of gasket against the crankcase as there isn't any combustion pressure involved. It depends on the state of the mating faces of course. Cork or Neoprene would accommodate scoring - along with copper grease rather than oil.

hello well some years ago I had trouble finding any frame and tin ware for These early Norton featherbed twins or any materials to make gaskets with as there is nothing around here for miles so Then I search the inter web and fould a number of steam engineers and bought gaskey stuff of them and all the tools to cut gaskets with a made a set of my own like most tin wear parts these where made by me including the rear mudguard with the shallow valance and the tool tray and other small parts and still trying to sort out two fuel tanks but of these last few years I have not been well so things are taking a little longer for me to do but I not in any rush to do them we get in time or time will beat me, one or other So the word to the wise is get your self tooled up and be prepared to make your own, as some after-market Norton parts you buy do not fit right, So the best bet is make it your self to fit and some time you have modify some part to fit all the best anna j

Many thanks to all three of you who responded. If I can't find these parts, then my mate, a tool & die maker, was going to make them for me, however. it sounds like they may be available.
Lionel, yes, the brake pedal spindle is the second photo that you posted. I haven't been able to get a hold of Norvil - as they did stock the bushes for the handlebar clamps that I also need. I'm in Canada and phone calls have gone unanswered. I'll persevere ! This Covid thing is causing havoc !!

Brake pedal spindle length
There are at least two different lengths for the plain shoulder, so make sure you get the right one. These are stocked in the NOC spares catalogue at 25mm or 30mm long.

hello now these parts are no longer available and you have to make your own like I did on my 53/54 Dominator and make siad gasket out of neoprene from little engines engineering they have a web site and you get your copper pipes from them as well as for the brake pedal mounting bolt its a case of looking on Ebay And Hoping for best or getting one made as early parts that do not fit the commando are not being made ever thing else that fit a commando is being made but the threads may of change to UN form were early threads are cycle or whitworth or BA all the best anna j
