Maiden run 850 Commando

Having completed a 3 year build from virtual scratch on a 8 year Garden neglected Commando basket case (including myself to take it on) I rode from home to old haunts of youth a 30 mile ride. Not exactly a long haul but the fun and grin factor outways the distance. Not a leak or loose nut-bolt to be seen. I do hope 2014 sees the 850 Interstate live up to its name and some longer rides are undertaken.

Nice one! All being well the bike should cover thousands of miles without problems. Just get out there and enjoy it! Don't forget to re torque the head when the engines cold if you've fitted an eyletted gasket. Plenty of distance events to choose from. How about Finland?

What re-torquing regime do you recommend? I recently fitted a composite gasket and ran it for 10 minutes in the garage and re-torqued, then did about 30 miles and re-torqued but I'm unsure how long to leave it before I do it again.
