This may sound like a strange question but where will I find the frame number of my navigator.
I am stripping down the frame for cleaning and painting and have not as yet found it.
It is (I believe) a 1961 model if that makes any difference.
thanks
Sholto

Hi,

On one of my deluxe frames it is also stamped on the headstock, but not on the other.
Hope that helps,

Hi Sholto,
I agree that the info given by Matthew is the correct location of the frame number i.e on the righthandside of the frame-not on the stay- but in my experience the precise position of the number seems to vary around but always in this general area. Clean off all the paint in the general area and you will probably find it. Some numbers are very shallow stampings so go easy with the sandpaper.
When the bike was new the frame number and the engine number were the same.

Gentlemen
Thanks you both for your advice.
Mathew, it was where you advised but I didn't expect it to be quite so small truth be told and it certainly couldn't be seen through the accretions of age.
Patrick, VERY lightly stamped!
