Information about Stanley Woods needed

Hello,I am visiting Ireland together with three other members of the "Norton Owners Club Austria" to see the NW200 Race Week for the first time. Manfred (one of the Austrian Travellers) talked to Stanley Woods in the 1980's at the Isle of Man TT and Manfred was so much impressed from this famous Racer that he asked me if we could visit the grave of Stanley Woods during our journey to Ireland. Sadly my only informations are that Stanley Woods was born in Dublin and that he died on the 28th July 1993. Now I hope that someone of the NOC Members could tell me the cemetery where Stanley Woods has his last resting place. Thank you for your help!

Hi Roland

There is an excellent book on Stanley Woods called 'The World's First Motorcycle Superstar' by David Crawford ISBN 978-0-957034-10-5 published in 2012. On the last couple of pages, it says that his funeral took place at Roselawn Crematorium Belfast & that he didn't want any religious service etc. You could try contacting them to see if there is any memorial there - I have emailed you further info from the book.

Hope to see you later on in the year at Bremen or the Begonia.
