can anyone I'd this mudguard, I bought it thinking it might be for a jubilee, but the single hole at the back prob rules that out?

If that's the case it's not Norton then! But I think the lightweights might have been smooth. I looks like it might be a FB cruiser they seem to have had a rear loop rather than individual stays. This one seems to have wrong guard. It could be Francis Barnet…
It could be Francis Barnett. Some models -don't know which ones- had a strange front wheel stand i.e the mudguard stay was a hefty item which hinged down from the fork end when required. Normally when riding it was held in place by a thumbscrew through the mudguard - hence the single hole in the back of the mudguard. I don't know any more about them but it was around the time of the Jubilee - say late fifties ? So it very likely will fit the Jubilee forks quite nicely.
Maybe I'm imagining things and somebody might know better !

Hi Dan,
Your mudguard looks pretty similar to my recollection of the Standard Jubilee item. (My Jubilee is locked away in the garage at the moment and it's raining outside). I'm certain that the 1959 FB 250 Cruiser had the same forks and front mudguard as the De Luxe Jubilee of that year so the Standard Jubilee probably used the equivalent year AMC mudguard and forks.
I thought you were using the Roadholder forks on your Jubilee ? So it might not fit these without a spot of modification.

patrick, you are right I have roadholders on my jubilee! but I also have 3/4 of a navigator and I'm slowly colliecting bits so if I don't find another pair of cheapish roadholders they may go on the Navi, but that's a long long way off!

Now you're an optimist - cheapish and roadholders don't fit together in the same sentence.
I've been in the garage this morning and my Standard Jubilee mudguard looks very similar in general shape - it does not have any centre rib and it has the riveted on brackets for the number plate. The brackets looks closer together on mine.
My mudguard has been on for at least 25 years but no guarantees that it is original either - they usually had plenty of crashes in their first life. It does fit well and follows the wheel contour pretty good.

I thought most Norton front guards from the 30's to late 60's have a V-pressing on the nose where the centre rib splays out wider.
