There used to be someone who sold rear number plate brackets. I'm after the open type as used on bolt-up featherbeds, ie pre '55 Dominator and International.

i got mine from cornucopia enterprises in Germany several years ago. They have updated the website but it's still in the old catalogue. Drop them an email and ask. I did and it looks right, item 114.

Does anyone know if Fred W. is still making mudguards? I'm in desperate need of a pair for my newly purchased 1954 bolt-up Wideline frame!

Here's hoping,
Ran

I don't know anything about the mudguards you are looking for but by chance when I was searching for something else I saw that Autocycle Engineering in Dudley England seem to still manufacture mudguards of many styles for old British bikes. Might be worth a look?  auto-cycle.co.uk

Fred has a stand at Kempton Park autojumbles, he is now based within the indoor hall nearest the entrance.  The next autojumble is 11th May.

From observation, he normally has a featherbed front mudguard amongst his display of items but I understand that he has ceased making rear mudguards due to the uneconomical amount of work involved.

Thanks Graham, I'll check out the website you mentioned, fingers crossed they can help.

Thanks for the update Peter, I'll research ticket prices for Kempton autojumble soon!

I suppose I could put a wanted ad in Roadholder as well...

Would this be the chap that made my 650ss rear mudguard, as purchased from the NOC spares scheme a few years ago. The person I spoke to at the time, Neil Shoesmith I think, told me it was made in England. The reason I ask is I need a pair of mudguards for a MK1 Interceptor.

The mudguards were made by Metal Magic in Reading, for the NOC, as i saw them being made when they are making parts for my Atlas Scrambler. They may be able to make your rear mudguard.

I was speaking to Fred at the Stafford show and he does prefer email as answering the phone for him stops him working. He gave me his card and his email address is: fredricw94@gmail.com .

Best of luck!

Paul.

Thanks Anthony and both Pauls for your assistance - I'll try both those options and keep you posted! All being well I pick up the frame/swingarm combo on Saturday - I'll post a picture up when it's safely back home!
