Long before Nortons were being fuelled and oiled for Austria, final negotiations were well under way for the 2010 NOC International Rally. Following a meeting back in April 2009 at the Stafford show, the Club has made arrangements for the rally to be held in northern Spain.

Some of you will be familiar with the rally for pre-1980 motorcycles that is held in Colombres in October of each year and which is organised by the local club Moto Club Pistón. The centrepiece of the rally is the Ruta de Cinco Mil Curvas or Route of the 5000 Curves. The NOC has arranged with M.C. Pistón for the International Rally to be held in the same area from 8th – 12th July 2010. There will be both camping and hotel facilities available and rates have been set for the event. Those of you who returned from Portugal via Northern Spain will know the spectacular scenery offered by the Cantabrian mountains and the Picos de Europa. The rally will feature runs out into the hills, using some of the routes featured in the October rally. Go to www.mcpiston.com to see what will be on offer.

For UK members, if you have been thinking of going to an International Rally but have not done so on the basis of the distance your poor old Norton will have to travel, then Spain is an ideal location to try. The rally site is an easy ride from the northern Spanish ferry ports.
